What am I buying?
You’re buying the digital cover for your ebook, a digital file with the personalization of the premade cover you’ve picked.
The covers on this site are not templates. They will be sold only once then removed from the site (after a week displaying a “SOLD” message).
What files are you going to send me?
- Your ebook cover in JPG, 1563 pixels wide by 2500 pixels high. These are the specifications for Amazon Kindle, but you can use it in another ebook service.
If your cover has a white or very light background, I’ll send you an additional version with a narrow grey boder so the cover doesn’t “dissapear” in a white web background. Again, this is an Amazon recommendation. - A little version of your cover in JPG, 500 pixels wide by 800 pixels high, a size more comfortable to promote your book in your web, social media, etc.

How many times do you sell a cover?
Once. All my covers are one-of-a-kind, they are not templates.
They will be sold only once then removed from the site (after a week displaying a “SOLD” message).
(This is true for my site in Spanish, too: once I sell a cover from one of my sites, I remove it from both.)
How often do you design new covers?
I don’t have a schedule for releasing new covers (that’ll change in the future) but in the meantime I put the most recent ones at the top of the main page (the covers page).
If you want to know when I post new covers, you can subscribe to my mailing list or visit my Facebook page, and I’ll keep you informed of new services and future discounts too.
Why are some of your covers in Spanish?
Some of the covers have the fake text in Spanish because I have the same covers in my site in Spanish (www.portadasparaebooks.com). Sometimes I make the covers in Spanish and sometimes in English.
I only sell the covers once, though: if I sell a premade cover in one of my sites, I take off the cover from both sites.
What size are the ebook covers?
The ebook covers are 1563 pixels wide by 2500 pixels high. These are the specifications for Amazon Kindle, but you shouldn’t have any problem using it in another ebook service.
How much does an ebook cover cost?
The covers are individually priced. You can see the price below the cover, above the “pre-order” link.
Some of them are only sold as a pack. In that case, I put the price for the pack below the covers.
What changes are included in the cover price?
- Changing the fake title and author for your title and your name (or pen name).
- Text change: adding or deleting text (e.g. a subtitle, a review, “Amazon bestseller”, etc.).
- Deleting decorative elements: e.g. deleting corner decorations, underlinings, etc.
- Size change: I can do it only if it’s not very far from the cover original proportions (5:8). Sometimes it won’t be possible due to the size of the images used in the cover. Ask for the size change before you pay for your cover.
- File type change: The covers are in JPG. If you need the cover in another format (like PNG or PDF), ask for the change before you pay for the cover in case there was some problem.
- Text color change: up to two changes.
These changes are included in the price while I’m working in your cover. Once the work is done and I’ve emailed you the final cover, I charge $15 for extra changes.

How long does it take you to send me the email with the invoice once the pre-order is sent?
No more than 24 hours, but likely a lot sooner. Usually I send the invoice when I see the pre-order email.
How long does it take you to make my ebook cover?
It depends of the changes I had to made to the cover and the back and forth messages and final adjustments. It depends of my workload too.
Usually it takes a working day -sometimes even less- after the payment has been made.
I want to buy a cover, but I haven’t decided my book title yet.
You can buy the cover now, and when you are sure about your title (whenever it is), send me the info and I’ll personalise it for you.
But you have to buy the cover first. I can’t hold the cover for you more than three days, because some other author may want it in the meantime. The only way to secure a cover is buying it.
What if I pick a title now and then I want to change it later?
There is no problem changing your title later, for a $15 fee.
If you change your mind while I’m working in your cover, there is no cost; but once the cover is finished and I’ve sent you the files, there’s an extra work and the cost is $15.
I want a cover, but I haven’t finished my book yet.
If you haven’t finished your book but you already know your title, there’s no problem: you can buy the cover, I’ll personalise it and you can use it when your book is ready.
If you haven’t finished your book and don’t even know the title, you can purchase the cover anyway and when you are ready, email me the details and I’ll personalise it for you.
In both cases you have to buy the cover if you want to be sure is going to be available for you. I can’t reserve it until you’ve finished your book, because somebody might want it in the meantime.
I bougth a cover but now I don’t like it and I’m not going to use it, can I have a refund?
I’m sorry, but no. There is work involved in managing the orders and removing the covers from the site.
When you pre-order the cover I hold it for you for 3 days so you can think about it. However, once the payment is made, the sale is final. Remember you can ask me any question you have before purchasing the cover.
I bought a cover some time ago, I didn’t send you my title to personalise it because I didn’t know it at the time, and now I have decided I don’t want it anymore. Can I have a refund?
I’m sorry, but no; all the sales are final. Please read the answer to the question above.
I bought a cover from your site a while ago and I didn’t use it. Now I’ve seen another one in your site I like better. Can I switch them?
I’m sorry, but no: I don’t change covers, even if they aren’t personalised yet. It would be a mess if people started to switch covers. If you’d rather use another ebook cover, you’ll have to buy it.
All sales are final. Think it over before you make a purchase. Ask me first all the questions you have.
I’ve seen in other places the same pictures you have in your covers.
To make my covers I use stock images that can be used commercially. This means that those pictures are available to be used for other people.
Exclusive images are extremely expensive, impossible to use in not-so-expensive premade ebook covers.
